How well do you know type?

Do you know your stem from your bowl?
Or, your kerning from your leading?

Typography is a massive subject, with some ideas and details to know and discover.

I've been a Designer for over a decade, and some of these I've never heard of - so it's good I have this handy cheat sheet now.

As a designer, I don't think you need to be an expert in everything - but I definitely recommend knowing some basics of type.

Being able to dissect and critique your design work, and discuss it with your peers and clients. Its key to becoming a better designer, and improving your work.

It's amazing how much of a difference mastering typography can improve your design work.
It touches so many areas, not just client work - think about all your own business collateral, presentations, signage, website, the list goes on and on.
