Can You Afford to Listen Fully

Inspired by a random graphic I found on Pinterest.

Are you a good listener?

Do you really hear what people are saying, or just waiting for your turn to talk?

Most of us aren't as good a listener as we think, did you know we only remember between 25 percent and 50 percent of what we hear according to Edgar Dale's Cone of Experience.

We can always improve are listening skills - so can you AFFORD to listen fully?
In these nudenotes we learn how we can improve those skills the AFFORD way.

A - Attention.
F - Focus.
F - Feelings.
O - Observe.
R - Restate or Rephrase.
D - Determine.

Check out the full break down of these principles in my notes.

These principles all add up to 'active listening' - it takes a lot of time to master this skill, as well as a lot of concentration and determination.

If you follow the AFFORD principles, you'll see a boost in your productivity and relationships.

I know I have - still not perfect, but I'm making progress with every conversation I have.

Let me know your tips for active listening in the comments below?
