What To Do When You Can't Sleep

Inspired by a graphic created by @believeperform - which I came across on Pinterest.

Does your worrying mind keep you up at night?

Racing thoughts or ideas, thinking about all what ifs?

In these nudenotes I'm sharing some actionable tips to quiet your mind and help you catch some Z's.

The biggest problem with allowing your mind to race with thoughts and worries in bed, is that over time you start to link going to sleep with these bad habits and not sleeping.

This just compounds the problem - making it even more difficult to sleep.

Sleep is an essential part of your own wellbeing, concentration and effectiveness.

So, if you're struggling with this you need to make it a high priority to fix it, or find methods to counter your busy mind.

I hope these tips help you get a better night of sleep!
Let me know your tips in the comments below.

For me, I rarely get this any more, but I think it's because of a few routines and habits I have.

One, I try to not look at my phone for at least 30 mins before bed (but, I hit that goal! hahaha).

Two, I keep Post-Its and a Pen next to my bed, just in case something pops into my mind - I can empty my thoughts onto it. Clearing my mind.

Three, when I finish the working day, I update my To-Do list in my work journal. This allows me to plan the next day, and again empty out all those lingering thoughts and feelings. So I don't carry them around all evening or weekend.
