The Four Bonds of Loyalty

What makes a loyal customer?

There are 4 main types of loyalty, these can be broken down into 4 types or bonds.

As customers, we no longer place heavy value on the structural and financial types of loyalty. This is backed by the research stated in Ogilvy's supporting blog article:

"Capgemini concluded that 70% of emotionally engaged customers spend 2x more on the brands they are loyal."

It's time we rethink how we measure and define loyalty as brand builders.

We need to focus more on the emotional and social bonds that bind us to our favourite brands. Create brands that are worthy of loyalty from our customers.

As Ogilvy said in their article:
"... Only then will they earn customers’ love and money."
