No matter what you call them, stylescape, moodboards, style board, visual mindmap etc. etc.

A good moodboard forms the foundation for all creative projects. It's a powerful tool that create a shared visual guide to the future design work.

Moodboards are a curated collection of materials (physical or digital), the goal is to communicate the visual mood and emotions of the design work to come.

As creative professionals we use moodboards all the time, but I feel we underestimate the power these have over our projects - good, bad and indifferent.

If your moodboard doesn't perfectly match the client’s needs, both in tone and visuals. You could end up on the wrong path and a doomed project.
