Lack of Visual Hierarchy

Inspired by an Instagram post created by @lefthandeddesigners which I discovered on @ojasguides.design.

Having designed a tonne of packaging over the years, I know visual hierarchy is key to a successful design!

Knowing how to amplify your core messaging without compromising on the styling can be a challenge, but it's worth every second when you nail it!

Bonus tip from me...

To create a clear hierarchy of information, it is best to gather a list of all the information needed to be included on your packaging, then rank them from most to least important.

During the design process, this allows you to prioritise them, so you can focus your design on the elements that truly matter to your potential consumers.

Say it once, say it with power, say it in the least amount of words.

Once you have done this a few times, you'll get a feel for what is important for consumers to know, and can just do it instinctually...

...BUT, it's always good to check in with the brief and client to ensure you're aligned - before you start the real work.

Remember, one degree off in the beginning of your journey can result in you ending up miles off course!
