Hard Skills Vs. Soft Skills

Inspired by a random graphic I came across on Pinterest.

Hard Skills or Soft Skills - which is most important?
Especially when applying got a job!

Both are equally important for career development.
But what's the difference...

Hard Skills are teachable, and easy to measure. They require knowledge.
For example: qualifications or certificates, maths or english skills.

Soft Skills are subjective, and difficult to measure. They require experience and wisdom.
For example: leadership, problem-solving or teamwork.

Hard Skills are easily compared by potential employers, this grade is higher than that grade.

Soft Skills are where you can really shine!
They're the things that make you a unique personality and potential candidate.

So when you're writing a CV or Portfolio, don't forget to ensure you have a good balance.
When you can link hard skills with soft skills, it's always a winning combination.

For example:
"I am able to problem-solve complex information using excel, for example in project X, I developed to be able to Y which helped the business Z."
OR
"I was able to design new assets and presentation to increase the brands’ ability to communicated to buyers and consumers. By using my bridging the gap between departments, open dialogues stream where few were before (communication skills) which resulted in X, Y and Z."

What's your favourite or most powerful pairing of a hard and soft skill?
